Angels Stick With Mark Trumbo At Cleanup

Trumbo’s solo shot in the second inning marked his second in the past four games, but the slugger also whiffed twice to give him at least one strikeout in each of the past 15 outings.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia told MLB.com on Monday that he will keep Trumbo in a platoon at the cleanup spot after contemplating putting him in the position more frequently. Trumbo is currently rotating with outfielder Josh Hamilton in the four-hole, with Trumbo earning the nod against left-handers and Hamilton facing righties.
