Andrew Luck, Colts dominate winless Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4) played well in the first quarter but things quickly spiraled out of control in the second quarter.
In the first quarter, the Jaguars scored a field goal and held Andrew Luck and the Colts to 94 yards and zero points. In the second quarter, the Colts scored two touchdowns and two field goals giving them a 20-3 lead at the half.?The Colts scored another 17 points in the second half and beat the Jaguars 37-3.
Colts starting quarterback, Andrew Luck completed?22 of 36 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns with an interception.
?It wasn?t an ideal start. It was more of a terrible start to the game offensively for us. We followed the defense and took their lead," Luck said. "We sort of woke up in the second half. Those two scoring drives were big for us after three and outs and a turnover by our defense. That is what we needed.?
The Jaguars starting quarterback, Blaine Gabbert returned after missing the last two games due to a lacerated right hand, which required 15 stitches. Gabbert?completed 17 of 32 passes for 179 yards and no touchdowns. Gabbert was picked off three times after his passes bounced off the intended receivers.
?You never want to lose a football game. We?re going to look at the film and diagnose what we did wrong. The biggest thing is we just have to improve from this. It is a long season and we just have to take this in stride and move on to next week,? Gabbert said after the game.
Up next, the Jaguars will head on a two game road trip to St. Louis where they will play the Rams on Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. ET and then Denver where they will face the Broncos on Oct.13 at 4:05 p.m. ET.
