30 Prospects In 30 Days: OF Bradley Zimmer

In this edition of 30 Prospects in 30 Days, we focus on outfielder Bradley Zimmer, a 6’4″, 185 lb junior at the University of San Francisco.

Scouting Grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 50 | Run: 55 | Arm: 60 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55

BradleyZimmerZimmer’s older brother, Kyle, went fifth overall in the 2012 Draft and reached Double-A in his first full pro season.

While Bradley won’t go quite that high, he looks like a first-rounder and could also move quickly through the Minor Leagues.

He performed well last summer, leading the U.S. college national team with 11 steals and winning playoff MVP honors in the Cape Cod League.

Zimmer’s bat stands out more than any of his other tools, as he is able to recognize pitches well and brings average to above-average power to the plate.

He is prone to striking out too much at times, but he is also comfortable hitting line drives all over the field.

Zimmer has solid speed and keen insticts which make him an asset on the basepaths and in the outfield. He has a chance to play center field, and if not, his strong arm will fit well on the corners.

His speed isn’t his only weapon on the field, either, as he possess a cannon of an arm.

Though Zimmer could be a guy that’s hit or miss, there is plenty of upside for him to be the second best hitter in this year’s draft class.

Tune in tomorrow at 6pm ET for the next edition of 30 Prospects in 30 Days: LHP Brandon Finnegan.
