Texas A&M redshirt freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel was the winner of the 2012 Heisman Trophy.  He won with the 9th highest percentage of votes in history (72.8%).  He won all but one region in the polling.

Jarvis Jones, Georgia 1 10 18 41

Certainly, looking ahead to next season, he’ll be the favorite to become only the 2nd player to win two Heisman Trophies along with Ohio State’s Archie Griffin.  Next year’s award, will be much more hyped knowing not just that, but also the competition he’ll have returning.

Marqise Lee, Braxton Miller, and Jadeveon Clowny finished 4-5-6 in the voting this year and they were all just sophomores.  We don’t know who and who won’t turn pro, but Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins of Clemson, AJ McCarron and TJ Yeldon of Alabama, Teddy Bridgewater of Louisville, and I am sure many others will emerge during the summer to challenge.
